The history of the state has never been more exciting! The state archaeological museum shows its legacies.

The permanent exhibition with some 10,000 selected exhibits presents a fascinating overview of the 130,000-year cultural history of Brandenburg. Over a space of about 2,000 square metres, visitors are taken through nine rooms beginning with the Stone Age and on to the Bronze and Iron Ages, from the Migration Period to the Slavs, through the Middle Ages to the Modern Age. In addition to the State of Brandenburg’s oldest finds - Neanderthal stone tools and remnants of slaughtered animals - important pre-historic finds, for example Neolithic gold rings from a grave and a skull with signs of having been operated on, are also presented.
