There is a great variety of cafés and restaurants, often with a view of the lake, around Lake Schwielowsee.

Many restaurants offer regional specialities such as asparagus or pike-perch from the River Havel. Inviting quaint cafés offer an assortment of cake and coffee.

You could also always stop for a little breather at the Caputh ferry house (Fährhaus Caputh ).

The Bonsai Garden in Ferch is a horticultural work of art and at the same time the centre of Japanese art and culture in the State of Brandenburg.

Cycling and hiking at Lake Schwielowsee

The paths of the forests and lake districts are ideal for both easy cycling tours with a water view or for a ramble through gentle landscapes.

It has been told that Fontane and Einstein used to roam the region. Pine forests and the shore of Lake Schwielowsee will accompany you during your tours of the region.

Castle and Garden of Caputh

The Caputh Castle and Gardens are picturesquely situated on the shores of the River Havel and are only a few kilometres from Potsdam.

The early Baroque ceiling with paintings and stucco work are characteristic of the stately residence of Dorothea, the second wife of the Elector of Brandenburg.
