The Caputh Castle and Gardens are picturesquely situated on the shores of the River Havel and are only a few kilometres from Potsdam.

The early Baroque ceiling with paintings and stucco work are characteristic of the stately residence of Dorothea, the second wife of the Elector of Brandenburg.

Albert Einstein's House in Caputh

Am Waldrand 15–17 · Caputh

This summerhouse was designed by Konrad Wachsmann and Einstein and his family lived here from 1929 to 1932. This is where the scientist worked and relaxed by going on hikes and sailing tours.

You can still sense some of the atmosphere of the days when he used to live here.
