When you are on holidays in Schwielowsee you will soon discover that a bike would be ideal for moving around. It is also thanks to the comfortable bike trails that the villages around Lake Schwielowsee, the quiet nature and the forests are close destinations or ends of individual stages of a cycling tour. Even untrained bikers can easily cover the few kilometres to the city of Potsdam. Only few people take along their own bike and it is not really necessary, as nextbike operates as many as four different stations in Schwielowsee. Make a cycling tour around Lake Schwielowsee or from one locality to the other or to Potsdam. You can return the bike at any of these localities and continue on by bus and train.

You can rent and return the bikes at any time day and night. Simply call the hotline at (+49-30) 120 863 64 and you will get a short text message containing a code in order to open the lock. Some locks might even be opened by the operator remotely. The operator's multilingual customer service centre is available by phone 24 hours a day. A local service team looks after the bike pool. Alternatively, you can use an app on your smartphone. Registration over the hotline costs a one-off fee of €3, which allows to use the bike for the first 30 minutes free of charge. You can also register at www.nextbike.de. You return the bikes at any nextbike station when your ride is over.

All you need to do is inform nextbike about the location of the bike by a simple text message or by phone when you've reached your final destination. The system also allows visitors coming from the city of Potsdam to explore the Schwielowsee region by bike, then return the bike to one of the four stations and return to Potsdam by public transport or vice versa.
